What this actually is

Most Wi-Fi complaints are not about the internet connection at all — they are about coverage. One router pushed into a corner of the house cannot reach the far bedroom through two concrete walls, and no amount of paying for a faster plan will change that. The fix is putting the right number of access points in the right places, which starts with measuring rather than guessing.

How the job runs

    Signal survey

    We walk the property measuring actual signal strength room by room, and note what the walls are made of. Concrete and reinforced slabs, common in Kerala construction, attenuate Wi-Fi far more than the drywall most equipment is specified against.

    Planning coverage

    Access-point positions follow the survey and the way you use the building — where people sit, where cameras and TVs live, where the dead spots are today. Fewer, better-placed units usually beat more units scattered about.

    Cabling and mounting

    Each access point is fed with its own Cat6 run and powered over that cable, so there is no need for a socket at ceiling height. Units are mounted flush and the cable is concealed in conduit.

    Configuration and testing

    One network name across the building, channels set so neighbouring units do not fight each other, and a separate guest network if you want one. We re-walk the property afterwards and confirm the dead spots are gone.

The choices worth understanding

Wired access points

Each unit has its own cable back to the switch. This is the arrangement that performs properly, because every access point gets full bandwidth rather than relaying through another. It is what we recommend wherever cabling is possible.

Mesh

Units relay wirelessly to each other, so no new cabling is needed. It is the practical answer in a finished building where running cable would mean chasing walls, at the cost of some throughput at each hop.

Guest and device separation

A separate network for visitors, and often another for cameras and smart devices, keeps them off the network your computers and phones use. On a business connection this is worth doing as a matter of course.

Questions

Straight answers

Will a faster internet plan fix my weak signal?

Usually not. Plan speed governs how much data reaches your building; coverage governs whether it reaches the far bedroom. If the signal bar is low where you are sitting, upgrading the plan changes nothing — the fix is another access point in the right place.

Do I need to run new cables?

For the best result, yes — a wired access point outperforms a mesh node because it is not relaying through anything. Where chasing walls in a finished house is not sensible, mesh is a legitimate answer and we will tell you what you give up.

Will my devices switch between access points automatically?

Yes. We configure the units as one network so phones and laptops move between them as you walk around, rather than clinging to a distant access point. That handover is a configuration matter, which is why hardware alone rarely solves coverage.

Can my cameras use the same network?

They can, and we usually put them on their own separate network. It keeps camera traffic away from everyday browsing and means a guest device cannot reach your recorder, which is the sensible arrangement on any site with cameras.
